BLESSED Legacy Stories

About

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!"
(Luke1:45 TNIV)

TELLING THE STORIES THAT MATTER MOST. My tagline expresses my passion for writing and for teaching others to write. As an author, writing instructor, and Bible teacher, I’ve witnessed the power of writing and healing in my own life and in the lives of others. Encouraging journaling, mentoring, and Bible study is a vibrant part of my life.

BLESSED. The acrostic for my blog, BLESSED Legacy Stories, reveals the purpose of all of my work: Building Legacies. Encouraging Spiritual Stories. Equipping Disciples.

STORYTELLER. I believe in the power of sharing our faith stories and life lessons. I’ve learned important lessons from others when they shared their stories. So, I recognize the need for others to tell their stories because it helps them to make sense of some of the crucial issues they face in life.

WRITER. I write about my faith, family, writing, and other subjects that may be on my heart and mind. I may share a song or a quote that means a lot to me. Or I may post one of my favorite recipes or a craft idea that someone shares with me. I also invite others to share their thoughts and stories on my blog. And I, on occasion, I write a book review for another writer, or I participate in a blog tour to encourage another writer.

I hope that my personal website and blog represents the efforts of my work as a professional writer, writing instructor, and CLASSeminars certified speaker.

BLOG. I post daily post on most weekdays. But to be sure to see my most recent posts, you can subscribe to the blog via RSS or email. Check my blog’s archives for a list of my posts or use the search function above Twitter link in the sidebar to find posts of special interest to you.

BIO. My early story started in Southeast Texas, where I met my husband, Dan. After our family moved to Arkansas, I worked for the Arkansas Baptist Children's Homes.

When our two children left the nest, I obtained two degrees in writing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), including an MA in Professional & Technical Writing. And I taught in a variety of writing-related roles, including an adjunct composition instructor at UALR.

I’ve also taught my writing workshops in multiple venues. And I’ve written for several publications, as well as a variety of blogs and e-zines. I’ve also contributed to several book compilations.

I have been married to my husband, Dan, for forty years now. We have two children and seven grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy writing, photography, reading, walking, movies, playing with my grandkids, and exploring our new home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. I am a member of Crossgate Church in Hot Springs, Arkanas.
